Poor Child "Must" School

Fills vacation of school, three weeks a go I have the day off with family to native land in Lampung. I get many stories and Iesson of life. One of them is about life experience of two different families, Kusnin Family and Bejo family. Both families has four child’s with the age is almost coeval.

Thirty years ago, Kusnin’s life is very poor. They live in middle of forest. Distance nearest neighbour more then 2 km. His home wall made from bamboo, the roof from coarse grass. As a farmer he is not has farm, Kusnin process wasteland untilled the owner at elbow his shack.

Differs from Kusnin, Bejo family has luxury home. Bejo has land, wide rubber and coffee plantation. Result of rubber plantation and coffee and other crop makes him very rich family in my native land. People in kampong hardly respect Bejo family. When I am child, I also have to wish to live like Bejo family, as abundance and respected people.

The education of two families is very differs. Kusnin Family obliges their children to recite Koranic verses at Maghrib to sholat Isya. Rotationally Kusnin and his wife teach their four children.

After sholat Isya and Subuh was oblige time to learn in this poor family. The result is four Kusnin sons and daughter’s always becomes class champion. “Science will take care of us", that the message and value teach strongly by Kusnin to his sons and daughters

Whereas Bejo lets his sons and daughters grow by them self. Various facilities increasing prestige was given by Mr. Bejo to his four children. From wearing cloth, choker, motorbike, and all generating iridescent colored impression owned by Bejo’s children.

After thirty years, Kusnin first child has become headmaster. Second child become a consultant and lecturer post master in one of distinguished college in Java. Third son becomes teacher at the same time woman mission expert in Lampung. Fourth son now becomes The Ministry of Religious affairs officer. Not merely his children be success, Mr. Kusnin also becomes elite figure and good model in my native land. His economical condition is good enough among most kampong people.

Whereas Mr. Bejo sons and daughters no one became "success”. Two of his sons only pass Elementary school and two of his daughters only can finalize finite of Junior high school. The two daughters becomes widow and suffer constantly. Both of his sons are in prison. The Bejo’s land and garden have also changed hands to others. Mr. Bejo which formerly very rich is becomes labor (the employee) of Kusnin which formerly pauper.

Mr. Kusnin feels his life changes because he always pushes his children to school. Mr. Kusnin was remaining to prioritize school as difficult and heavy as possible. Even formerly, Mr. Kusnin often borrows money to Bejo for expense his sons and daughters school.

When I meet Mr. Kusnin three weeks ago he is weeping. His tears drop to hears news in television that a lot of people cannot continue school because poorness of their parents. "Fate of our family changes because school, pauper will deep down poor if they stop to school. If will change fate of pauper, don’t “forbid” them to go to school" he says. Come On School...
